About wagekind

wagekind is a set of free calculators that show what you take home from a salary in the UK or Australia, and what a sale really earns a small business.

Who we are

wagekind is made by Denvelkoff Studio, a small web studio in Varna, Bulgaria. The site is independent. It is not part of, or approved by, HMRC, the Australian Taxation Office or any government.

What the calculators do

• Work out take-home pay after income tax, National Insurance, pension and student loan in the UK.
• Work out take-home pay after income tax, the Medicare levy and HECS-HELP in Australia, with super shown on top.
• Turn a cost and a selling price into profit margin and markup, with VAT or GST taken out first.

The sums run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored. Every rate comes from GOV.UK, HMRC or the ATO, and each one is listed with its source on How we check rates.

What they are not

The results are estimates for employees on a normal payroll. They are not financial, tax or legal advice, and they do not cover self-employed income, benefits in kind or unusual tax codes. For a decision that matters, check with HMRC, the ATO or a qualified adviser.
